Bob Greene is a legendary figure in New Orleans jazz history, having
played in the US and all over the world for over sixty years, including
many years with the New Orleans Preservation Hall Jazz Band. He
has played with many of the great jazz artists of all time, and
has a vast repertoire of music from the golden age of jazz. Like
many jazz artists today, Bob has a large following in Europe and
Japan, and spends a significant portion of the year touring abroad.
One can only hope that with the availablility of more releases
like this, American listneres will rediscover the treasure that
foreign audiences have been savoring for years.
Not surprisingly, Mr. Green is also a historical scholar
of the history of American jazz. Among his publications is a biography
of Ferdinand "Jelly Roll" Morton.
